In 2013, AGC was selected as the design-assist mechanical contractor for a new Science and Mathematics Building that was being programmed as part of the South Campus Development at Evergreen Valley College in San Jose. We worked alongside other team members including Blach Construction, HMC Architects, and Interface Engineering to incorporate value engineering and constructability reviews as early as possible in the process.
AGC provided engineering support, field expertise, and estimating services throughout the design process to ensure that, once the design phase was complete, the scope of work was well understood and properly budgeted. With the help of the engineering team at Interface Engineering, we were able to establish a solid foundation for the life of the project.
This beautiful new building was opened in 2017. It houses 65,000 sqft of classroom space, instructional laboratories, support spaces and an adjacent fitness center. Mechanical systems include a variable volume fume hood exhaust system featuring CRC fume hood exhaust air valves, central plant chilled water and heating water connections, and an innovative return air and relief system.
